【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoversthefabricationofnewfullyenclosedwireboundpallet-typewoodenboxesintendedforuseascontainersfordomesticandoverseasshipmentofgeneralmaterialsandsupplies,notexceeding2500lb[1134kg](see).1.2Wireboundpallet-typewoodenboxperformanceisdependentonitsfabricatedcomponents;therefore,avarietyoftypes,classes,andtreatmentsreflectingvariedperformancearespecified.Thisspecification,however,doesnotcoverwireboundpallet-typewoodenboxperformanceunderallatmosphere,handling,shipping,andstorageconditions.1.3Iftheuseofotherconstructionmethodsortechniquesisacceptableandpermitted(see),theresultingpackagingsystemsshallbeofequalorbetterperformancethanwouldresultfromtheuseofthesespecifiedmaterialsandprocedures.TheappropriatedistributioncycleprovidedinPracticeD4169canbeusedtodevelopcomparativeproceduresandcriteria.1.4Thevaluesstatedineitherinch-poundorSIunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Withinthetext,theSIunitsareshowninbrackets.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemarenotexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemmustbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnonconformancewiththestandard.SeeIEEE/ASTMSI10forconversionofunits.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifanyassociatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
